BCBA Board Elections

electionsElections for the 2014 BCBA board term are coming up on February 5th, 2014 at 6pm at the Rec Center. Anyone can be nominated up until that date, but nominees must be present at the Feb. 5th meeting to be voted in. We are currently accepting nominations for the offices of Board President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, and for the five Members-at-Large positions. Officers are limited to serving two consecutive two-year terms and all members are expected to attend regular meetings and participate in planning committees and event coordination. Serving on the BCBA Board is a great way to be more involved in our community and we are grateful to all of our past and present board members who have devoted so much of their time to Boulder Creek! Board members are voted in by the members of the BCBA, so make sure to mark your calendars and join the election process. See you there!

BC Sweep This Saturday!

BC Sweep

Boulder Creek’s annual town clean-up is happening this Saturday, June 8th! We’ll meet at 8am in the parking lot of the IOOF building at Forest and Pine to sweep our streets and do some spring cleaning for our beautiful downtown. Bring gloves, brooms, pruners, and a friend! Food and refreshments will be provided for volunteers, including coffee from Jenna Sues and BBQ by Eric Hammer. See you Saturday morning!

Sheriff’s Reminder: Lock Your Car!

As many of you know, there has been a recent rash of crime activity in our neighborhoods, many of which involve thefts from unlocked cars. Sgt. John Habermehl of our local Sheriff’s office reminds us to lock our cars for several reasons:

“Just to explain the importance, in two ways, the first being we want to make ourselves less of a target, but secondly, the difference between a theft from an unlocked vs the theft from a locked vehicle is the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony. So, locking up our valuables not only protects the community better, making each of us less of a target but also allows for stiffer penalties when we catch the bad guy… and we will. Installation Dinner and Auction at Scopazzi’s

The BCBA’s 2013 Installation Dinner and Auction is coming up! This Saturday, February 23rd at Scopazzi’s we will celebrate 47 years of the Boulder Creek Business Association and welcome our new board, board officers and community members. Join us for dinner at 7pm followed by a live auction – a silent auction will also be happening throughout the evening. Childcare is available at the BC Rec Hall from 5:30-8:30 for only $10 – make it a date night and come join us for a wonderful evening!

Tickets are $40 per person in advance and can be purchased from Boulder Creek Pizza & Pub, or $45 at the door.

Tree Lighting and Santa Sighting

Don’t miss out on the coming of Santa & our holiday celebration in downtown Boulder Creek on the day after Thanksgiving. Bring your friends and family to the annual tree lighting and stroll the town, ride the horse drawn carriage, listen to the music and be prepared to be dazzled by local street musicians, artists & youth groups peddling holiday fund raisers.

Most Unique Parties & Ponys will perform a magic show on the stage set up behind Boulder Creek Hardware, followed by face painting & balloon twisting about town. Jazzercise will dance their way into Christmas & voices will carry the sounds of the season.

Join us for an evening of fun and have your picture taken with Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Boulder Creek Pizza & Pub. Proceeds from carriage rides & Santa pictures benefit the BCBA CANpaign Fund to Light Up The Town. This is more than a holiday event, it’s an everyday illumination!

Merchants will be open late for your shopping pleasure so stop in and see what’s new in your town.
