Santa Cruz Mountain Business Girls

SCM Business Girls

SCM Business Girls is a networking and support group designed for women in business in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The group is set up with a laid back, no commitment style that is easy to be a part of. So instead of the normal women’s business group with members and an extensive rule book, SCM Business Girls is different.

All business women in the Santa Cruz Mountains are welcome to attend anytime, whether it be regularly or on a drop-in basis. Regular attendance is recommended in order to receive the maximum benefits of the group, but as working women we live diverse and busy lives. We juggle kids & families, our career, community activities, our significant others, and the list goes on. In other words, we want to promote our business and make connections with other professionals, but we can’t be glued down to rigid rules and memberships that cramp our busy life-styles.

Want to check it out?
Drop-in for coffee and an hour of business networking every Thursday morning from 9-10 starting April 25, 2013 at the Felton Satellite Telework Center. Bring your business cards and start your day being inspired, energized, and supported by women in business just like you!

Sheriff’s Reminder: Lock Your Car!

As many of you know, there has been a recent rash of crime activity in our neighborhoods, many of which involve thefts from unlocked cars. Sgt. John Habermehl of our local Sheriff’s office reminds us to lock our cars for several reasons:

“Just to explain the importance, in two ways, the first being we want to make ourselves less of a target, but secondly, the difference between a theft from an unlocked vs the theft from a locked vehicle is the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony. Try to find Canadian casino online on mapleleafonlinecasino.com! So, locking up our valuables not only protects the community better, making each of us less of a target but also allows for stiffer penalties when we catch the bad guy… and we will. We have several leads and while Dimitri Storm is still a major focus there are a few others.”

Thanks!

Volunteers Needed for Holiday Event!

Please HELP!   We need you, your adult children, your spouse, your neighbor, your sister or firends to come on down & help out with our annual HOLIDAY EVENT & Tree Lighting  while immersing in the fun with community.   As we’ve continued to grow this event, we need more volunteers to assist with carriage rides, elves to tend to pictures with the sleigh, crossing guards to ensure the safety of children with oncoming horses/traffic & incoming Santa’s on firetrucks.   It’s a fun & exciting time here in the woods & I could use some additional support.
The event runs from 5:00 – 8:00 so we’re asking folks to donate 2 hours in 2 shifts.   4:30 – 6:30 AND 6:30 – 8:30.
Please contact me if you can help out!  I promise you’ll enjoy the energy & the forecast calls for clear skies so looks like clear sailing for our event.   If it rains, your services will not be necessary :(, so pray with us for stars & we’ll all dance in the streets this night.
Many thanks,
Karen Mayer, BCBA event chair
