Our Mission:
The purpose of the BCBA is to maintain a healthy economic and cultural environment in this small mountain town by promoting a cohesive bond between the various organizations representing the valley population and business; with a positive sense of community while respecting and embracing the diversity of each individual.

Membership Information:
We invite you to join or renew your Boulder Creek Business Association membership.
Continuing in 2021, individuals and families can join the BCBA as non-voting members for $40. Join and participate in quarterly mixers, volunteer to help on project committees, and have your name listed on the BCBA website as a proud supporter of the Boulder Creek community.
Basic Business Membership starts at $75 and includes your business listed on the BCBA website as well as a number of other perks to help you grow your business
Starting in 2021 we are offering three Sponsorship Tiers. These tiers include Basic Business Membership as well as advertising your business at select BCBA events throughout the year. See the membership form for more details.
Other Membership opportunities include:
Reduced weekly rates for advertising on the “Town Sign” located across from Scarborough Lumber. ($75 for members, $100 for non-members).
Networking opportunities to meet local business owners, neighbors and other supporters of Boulder Creek.
Businesses have the opportunity to host Mixers, and may have their business profile featured on the BCBA website and Facebook page.

Mixers:
In 2020 the Boulder Creek Business Association will hold Mixers on the first Wednesday of February, April, June, September, October, and December at 6pm. Mixers are open to the public and are a great opportunity to find out what’s going on in our community. Please join us at our next Mixer. Check the Home page at BCBA.net for date, details, and location.
Board Meetings:
The Board of Directors meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 4:30pm. Meetings are held at Boulder Creek Pizza and Pub at 13200-B Central Ave. If you would like to participate please contact one of our board members or use our contact form to send us an email.

2021 BCBA Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is composed of local business owners and community leaders who have demonstrated tireless dedication to improving life in the San Lorenzo Valley.
Board elections for 2021 were completed online due to Covid during December 2020. The next board election will be held in December of 2021 in person (if hopefully allowed). If you would like to nominate a board member, please contact us or attend one of our upcoming meetings.

Karen Edwards, President ( & acting Treasurer )
Assistant VP & Operations Officer: Liberty Bank, Boulder Creek
Originally from Oklahoma, Karen has lived in Santa Cruz County since 1987 and loves calling this area her home. She has a degree in Marine Biology which is a field for which she’ll always have a passion. She loves taking photos everywhere she goes. She has worked in San Lorenzo Valley, at Liberty Bank, since 2000 and says that “becoming a part of this community has been a wonderful experience. The people I’ve encountered have shown a kindness and generosity that is heartwarming.” Since becoming a part of the BCBA, her love of the area has become even stronger and she looks forward to the projects ahead.

Tamara O’Kelly, Vice President
Owner: The Historic Hartman House Inn
Tamara has a background in biological science with a previous vocation as a Veterinary Nurse working at an emergency hospital, mobile farm calls, eventually finishing her career in transgenic research. After she left medicine, she pursued her interest in historic preservation restoring several historic homes while operating a sign design and manufacturing company in Santa Cruz. Eventually her love of science, historic preservation and design, led her to the UC Berkeley Landscape Architecture program. She graduated with honors designing everything from pocket parks to zoological habitats for the San Francisco Zoo. During her time at UC Berkeley, she and two other Landscape Architects formed EarthArch Design which focused on parks and public spaces. Now in semi-retirement, she is running her small farm and historic inn while pursuing her dream of helping lead the Main Street program in Boulder Creek. “Boulder Creek Main Street,” working under the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is a leading preservation based economic development program that revitalizes historic downtowns through community grass roots movements. Tamara is an alumna of Leadership Santa Cruz County, Class 26. Tamara is a 30 year resident of the Santa Cruz Mountains with 15 years in Downtown Boulder Creek. In her free time, you can find her working on her house, gardening and walking her miniature donkeys.

Robin Imholte, Secretary
Owner: Messy Play Kits
Robin Imholte moved to Boulder Creek in 2019 and is excited to be joining the BCBA. She runs a home-based business where she makes children’s science kits (like slime and sensory bins) and provides hands-on activities for birthday parties and events. Originally a Vermonter, she’s been based in CA for years and is happy to be back in the mountains. She looks forward to exploring more that the Santa Cruz Mountains and Boulder Creek have to offer in the years to come.

Kelly Pruden
Campaign Manager: Boulder Creek Recreation and Parks District
Kelly has lived in Boulder Creek for nine years, after moving from San Jose. After volunteering and being involved in the community for years, she started working for the Boulder Creek Parks and Recreation District, focusing on coordination and execution of the district’s events. Kelly has been with the district for three years and loves being involved in the community. This will be her second year as a board member on the BCBA.

Julie Horner
Musician: The Crooked Road Céili Band
Julie Horner is a Boulder Creek homeowner who has lived in the San Lorenzo Valley for nearly 20 years. She has been extremely active in the Boulder Creek community as a local newspaper columnist, social media manager, and BCBA board member. Former BCBA Secretary, Janet Coit, dubbed Julie “the town crier” because of Julie’s support of the BCBA on social media and in print. With over 23 year’s experience as a professional technical writer in Silicon Valley, Julie is co-publisher and co-owner of the San Lorenzo Valley Post, a print publication and online information and entertainment resource created specifically for the San Lorenzo Valley and the Santa Cruz Mountains. She and business partner Mary Andersen of the San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce are dedicated to local information sharing across the valley and make a tremendous communications team.
Julie can be found front and center at most downtown Boulder Creek events, many times in costume! She and her Irish music group, The Crooked Road Céili Band, have played for the Boulder Creek Tree Lighting and Santa Comes to Town event for the last several years running, clear skies or pouring rain. After the CZU fire, Julie joined Karen Edwards, Jen Padgett, and Anil Prajapati to present Fridays on Forest, an outdoor music series on Forest Street to help reunite the Boulder Creek community once evacuation orders were lifted. Julie is also a member of the Boulder Creek Main Street Project planning committee, a member of the I.O.O.F., and has worked with the San Lorenzo Valley Women’s Club SLV Restoration Program. Julie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Radio, Television, and Film, minor Technical Writing, and is a programmer and DJ at KBCZ 90.1 FM Boulder Creek Community Radio.

Jen Padgett
Owner: Aum Herbs Apothecary & Gathering Place
Jen Padgett is the owner of Aum Herbs and apothecary and gathering place in Boulder Creek, California. Before becoming an herbalist, she was a leader at several companies ranging from non-profit technology to bar management. Her personal motto is stolen from Walt Disney: “If you can dream, you can do it” and this has guided most of her endeavors in her personal and business life. She is an advocate for human kindness, a mother of many and married to her best friend and partner for life, Jason. She and Jason live off – grid in the Santa Cruz Mountains about 20 minutes from her shop where they happily garden, play drums, cook yummy food and plan their next adventures together.

Clark Snowdall
Software manager: Lucid Motors
Clark Snowdall moved to the mountains from Silicon Valley in 2016 with his partner so they could have a large enough plot of land to keep their beloved horses and donkeys on. He has worked in various aspects of tech and aerospace from NASA, to defense contractors, to advanced R&D, to small startups. He now works running a software team for the luxury startup electric car company, Lucid Motors. When he isn’t participating in BCBA events or grinding away writing software, he and his partner are riding their two horses through the Santa Cruz Mountains, walking their two mini donkeys in downtown Boulder Creek, or relaxing with their dog and cat at their small ranch.

Tracy Goyette
Owner: Perfectly Organized
Tracy Goyette is the owner of Perfectly Organized, an organizing business established in 2001. Perfectly Organized helps you to de-clutter and reorganize households alike. Tracy has only been a permanent resident of Boulder Creek for just over a year. Her grandmother bought a weekend cabin in the 1950’s. Eight decades and five generations of her family have called this wonderful community home. When Tracy isn’t organizing or spending time with family, friends and her Bloodhound Duke, she is flying. Tracy is an International Flight Attendant for a major airline. She has been flying for 35 years and has tracked roughly 80,000 times around the globe!

Frankie Brenchley
Owner: Tree House Cafe
Frankie is “just” a coffee shop owner, blessed by the community, and grateful for this opportunity. Her background is in accounting, law, and management. She was a manager for CVS Pharmacy for 15 years. Above all her favorite thing she has ever done is public service; she loves this community and will work hard to do what she can to improve it. She is a strong believer in team work and knows that nothing is accomplished on your own; someone always has a part in most every successful venture.
